As the lead strategist for Instrument, I was part of a team called "Cosmos" that undertook unique and exciting projects for the Epic Games launcher, Design system documentation, and the consolidation of various subsidiary websites to create a cohesive aesthetic and navigation across the diverse metaverse product offerings.

Project objectives

Visually display games in a way that allows users to quickly glimpse what’s hot, new, and trending before diving deeper into product detail pages. Ensure users can efficiently browse games by utilizing dynamic and robust category and sort filters. Organize metadata and product tags next to product tiles (images) to provide users with a summary of which games are on sale, new, DLC, add-ons, and base games.

Cross - navigation

Before the unification of primary navigations and footers, each platform (website) had its own standalone primary navigation and footer. This made it cumbersome for users to jump from one platform to another. Consistent themed navigations and footers not only centralize all of Epic Games' subsidiaries but also provide users with a clearer understanding of the breadth of Epic Games' extensive ecosystem of product offerings for gamers, creators, developers, and more.

Play. Create. Discover.

Epic Games is truly a powerhouse ecosystem that encompasses numerous platforms under its umbrella. We categorized these interconnected platforms into three main categories: Play, Discover, and Create. This approach provides users with a simple and clear way to understand which platforms belong to each category.
